A kind of machinery in the material handling industry that could be used to raise and transport loads from one place to another is referred to as a forklift. Every component of a forklift has a specific function. Various parts could be utilized to move the load horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The components utilized to lift and lower the load is known as the forklift mast. There are different types of masts for lifting loads to various heights: duplex, triplex, quad and simplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you can power a forklift: electric, gas, diesel and propane. The battery is situated within the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is located on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is beneath the rear of the truck.
Cab
Located within the center of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the biggest components of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are situated at the rear in order to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
