In order to be a successful model, a forklift has to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It should be able to transport loads quickly and efficiently as well. The machine must be both ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator as well.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain needs the power to continually offer great strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with extremely tough shafts and strong gears. The drive, steer axle, transmission and engine are all isolated to be able to reduce both noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM LP & Gas Engines:
The Mazda LP and GM Gas Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These equipment offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimal repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which lessen wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine provide a higher compression ratio leading to better torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most equipment. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that give resistance when driving on rough terrain. The strong clutch packs offer 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which automatically adjusts in order to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to increase durability, extend the life of the tires and to eliminate shock loading. What's more, the auto deceleration feature reduces break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is engineered for extra durability with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are practically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for debris and damage, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which can add extra stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and reduces wear.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included a lot of ergonomic features and safety features. These kinds of machines would handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
