Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Sacramento

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Sacramento

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift

Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to transport products and supplies around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which could raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

Pallet trucks must be operated carefully to avoid loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Machine must be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle can smoothly turn. The pallet must be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be in the middle to be able to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you since the thrust can cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop suddenly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
