Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machine while they pick up and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads using these machines. A rider could be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specially made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can operate in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machinery in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
